[The feeling of loneliness that would often peg him when the angel wasn't anywhere near was an emotion Crowley wouldn't often face. It was best not to do so.

And there is always that rush of excitement when he's back by Aziraphale's side. Being able to inhale his scent, bathe in his warmth. ]

You're surprised by that?

I just don't understand why either of them did it.

[ It had been a process, trying to get the bookshop feel right to his standards again. But he's getting there, and Muriel is still around, watching over and learning. They're getting quite good at it.]

Still a better fate than the ones Gabriel left in the alleyway. Apparently he wanted to "show the mice".

Show the mice?

[The demon knows how much the bookshop means to Aziraphale. The angel has made it his little safe spot, a sanctuary. A place where he feels both safe and comfortable.

It infuriates the demon when it's invaded. ]

[ Over the decades, Aziraphale had been quite good at keeping the bookshop appropriately empty, for the most part. The last few had been a little tougher, he'd have to admit.]

They were picture books, I believe. I suppose he just wanted to share the stories with them.

He's an idiot.

[The demon's words are hissed with no hesitation. Aziraphale knows how the demon feels about the once archangel.

Intense feelings of disgust]

[ Aziraphale makes the subtle face of someone who agrees but is trying to be nice about it.]

Suppose it couldn't be helped, in the state he was.

[Crowley isn't about to let Gabriel off so easy despite his sudden change of heart. True, the angel fell in love but that doesn't change that he had tried to kill Aziraphale.

Only it wasn't Aziraphale....]

Glad that's over.

Though...where do you reckon they've gone?

[Harsh but the demon is being honest. ]

They aren't here anymore and thats what matters.

I suppose you're right.

[ As long as they don't cause any trouble. And, last time they saw them, it didn't look like they wanted to.

He runs his fingers faintly over Crowley's sleeve. Just an idle gesture.]

So where we we going?

[As long as they both stay far away from the demon and angel, Crowley could careless what happens. Just as long as he and Aziraphale can continue to spend their time on Earth without any issues. ]

The restaurant isn't far. Our table should be ready.

Oh, wonderful!

[He's very excited about this particular little lunch date, for whatever reason. And anyone who spots them walking down the street so closely arm in arm can easily tell.]

[Over their long time spent together Crowley has caught on that Aziraphale is very fond of surprises. The angel will soon find that the restaurant chosen is top notch. Built with elegance and beauty.

Their table is located outside on a balcony. The weather is perfect and their view is stunning. Crowley knows the angel admires those kind of things. Their table is also set in a private area to where they won't be bothered.]

[ Oh he does so like surprises. Good ones, anyway, and Crowley has always been quite apt at those.

When they step out into the balcony, the angel gasps quietly albeit delightedly over the view, and gives Crowley quite the smile when they are seated.]

Oh, you.

Too much?

[One would describe the setting as romantic as much as it were stunning. Over time the demon has caught onto the angel's elegant and posh taste.]

It’s perfect.

[ Of course they have the time and opportunities to find the lovelies places, but Crowley really puts in the effort for little moments like this. ]

[He knows the elegant angel has exquisite taste and it's always a treat to try somewhere fancy and new. ]

Yeah?

Yes.

[ The lingering look he gives Crowley is filled with adoration and love. There's not that much to that evening that's different from the others, but he's reveling in these feelings. He reaches to put a hand on the demon's, and the moment would last so much longer if a waiter didn't come around to give them their menus.

The loving stare is broken, but the angel doesn't move his hand. ]

[Both the angel and demon have dealt with a great deal recently and Crowley has a keen way of knowing when Aziraphale is a bit ruffled. The angel deserves a night out, a peaceful one.

Aziraphale deserves the universe and more honestly.

The demon's fingers move to gently curl around the angel's own. Casually of course as the two give their order and once the waiter scurries off, his hand remains. ]

I see why the humans make such a fuss about this country.

[ He gently squeezes Crowleys hand as they’re making their orders.

When the waiter has left, he looks at Crowley again, and then out at the view.]

Oh, yes. It’s quite beautiful, isn’t it?

Even over the centuries, it never lost its splendor.

I'm surprised actually.

[Humans sure have a way with destroying beautiful things. Of course so does Heaven and Hell. Tragic really.

His eyes fall back along the angel, head tilting.]

[ The angel is taking a moment to appreciate the view. The sunset light makes his features almost glow.

He looks over at Crowley, and finally notices. ]

Yes it's-...good.

[The view is in a word stunning and Crowley can't help but wonder why the great all mighty would ever want to destroy such creations.

Thankfully he can at least admire the glow of the angel. With those bright eyes that have seen many wonderful things but his reactions never change.]

It is.

[ The angel's expression softens, his cheeks going slightly pink under Crowley's gaze.

He brushes a thumb across the demon's fingers. ]

Thank you. For bringing me here.

[It should be a sin how just a simple touch can make the demon melt. Slightly of course!

He nods his head, fingers lightly brushing against the angel's own.]
